Las Vegas: More Than Casinos

Las Vegas, in the state of Nevada, is famous for its bright lights, enormous hotels and exciting entertainment. The city's best-known entertainment district is the Las Vegas Strip, where visitors can see spectacular fountains, themed hotels, restaurants and live shows.

Las Vegas also has a musical history. Elvis Presley performed hundreds of shows at the International Hotel, beginning in 1969. The hotel later became known as the Las Vegas Hilton and is now Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino. Another famous musical connection is Imagine Dragons, the pop-rock band formed in Las Vegas in 2008.

Visitors can also explore the city's history and surrounding desert. However, the weather can be extremely hot in summer, so it is important to drink water and plan outdoor activities carefully.
