Coffee is a plant and the name of the drink that you make from this plant. The coffee plant is a bush or tree that can grow up to ten meters (about 32 feet) high. Coffee plants originally grew in Africa, and now also grow in South America, Central America and Southeast Asia. They are an important crop for the economies of many countries.

You make The drink  from the seeds of the coffee plant, called coffee beans. Coffee is usually served hot, and is a popular drink in many countries. Coffee contains caffeine, a soft drug that keeps people awake.

To make the drink we call coffee, first you need to dry the beans and then roast them. The farmers collect the beans and they let the beans dry for a short period of time. This preserves them and makes them ready to be packed or roasted. After that, you have to grind the beans and when you put the ground coffee in boiling water, the flavor and dark brown color of the beans goes into the water.

We use the verb "brew" instead of the verb "make" when you are talking about coffee. You can also say "make coffee" if you speak about the action in general. You can brew coffee in different ways: You can use an automatic coffee maker, a percolator, the French press, and the classic cone with paper filter "Melita".
