Shopping and sun are some of the best things LA has to offer. If you don't want to enjoying one for the other, you can do both: spend walking around one of the best outdoor shopping areas in the city.

Downtown Santa Monica is the quintessential Southern California beach city. It's home to the world-famous 3rd Street Promenade we have a multitude of shopping, dining, and entertainment options, and it's really the ultimate place to spend the day into California sunshine and look like a local with their friends and families.

You do not have shopping here in downtown Santa Monica. You have over 500 stores and that includes: Bloomingdale's Nordstrom's and FRED SEGAL:

Fred Segal
Fred Segal is an iconic that started over 50 years ago. What's so unique about Fred Segal is that it's not only comprised of the best brands but it's a one stop shop: you can come in and you can at the salon, spa, there's a yoga studio, there's two restaurants, there's kid's, women's, men's, sportswear , couture. There's a little bit of everything.

Another local favorite: THE BIKE CENTER, the largest bicycling commuter Center in the country, offers all the services you need to see the city .

- Well the bike center is really a full service facility for bicyclists, people can bring their bikes, park their bikes here; to our rack.
We have bike rentals; we do bike tours; we do repair services. Anything bike! we're the Bike Center. We think it's a great way to get around; you don't deal with parking. It's, you know, it's good for you and see a lot of great sights.

When you're walking the streets of downtown Santa Monica there is a fun laid-back , but we're also at the forefront of technology with businesses like Apple and Tesla so there really is something for everyone here.

Downtown Santa Monica has a variety of dining options like Border Grill or Fig and many of our local chefs shop at the Farmers Market to buy the freshest produce for their restaurants two of these chefs are celebrity chefs: Susan Feniger and Mary Sue Milliken.

-Border Grill is very similar to us. Been around a long time and lots of our inspiration all over Mexico, and being inspired from food that I could eat and had never tried before and what we did 25 years ago is try to bring it here.

- We feel like Border Grill sort of the destination for a lot of people who are excited about being in California and when I taste the flavors that are Mexican-inspired , and be right there in the heart of the happening in the Santa Monica food scene.

In the evening you can grab a signature cocktail at the Misfit or you could even spend the evening at Emma's Westside comedy theater where every single night they have a hilarious improv show.
