Hi! I'm Sharon Booth with Goldenrod Performance Horses and we are representing Expert Village.
Today, we are going to learn how to look for a healthy horse. Every day you need to inspect
your horse for good health. So as again you've got him out of the stall and standing on the
, we are going to look at the . Are the eyes clear and bright? Is there no
around the edges?

You are going to go down and look at their . Are they
nice and dry and no runny nose and mucus running from the nose? Is there anything drooling
out of the side of the side of the horse's mouth that might indicate some bad in
there? You are going to go down their legs and make sure there are on the legs,
make sure there is nothing obstructing under the that is showing any swelling or
where they might have rolled and gotten hurt in the stall.

Down their back, you want to
make sure their back is clean and and no lumps there that is not showing. Some times
a horse can get in which they would be just lumps all over them and you might
want to consult your vet at that time to make sure there are no allergies that are in the
area, so that they are having a reaction to maybe or some different .
You also want to look out at their hind legs making sure that everything is good there.
That they are having as a horse that may be may have the runs. So you
look at the hind legs. Are there any discharge there? All this area should be clean and free
of any discharge from either to indicate that the horse is healthy on the
inside as well. So as you check your horse daily, just give it a good general inspection
making all the legs clean from lumps, cuts or any kind of wound and the body itself.

That your horse is looking at you saying, okay, good morning, I am ready to go with
you. Continue to build a good relationship with your horse because if they are showing
any signs of laziness or or if their is down and you can tell they don't
feel good, then consult your physician and vet right away.
